CCPS has sport and performance psychology (SPP) providers who are available to meet with students for confidential, one-on-one meetings aimed at improving performance.

While SPP services are often utilized by athletes, these services are helpful for students engaging in other forms of competition or performance (e.g., debates, speeches, musical performances). Our SPP services are open to all students who are eligible for CCPS counseling.

Our providers can help with…

  • Focus
  • Confidence
  • Motivation
  • Goal-setting
  • Performance anxiety
  • Responding to mistakes and adversity
  • Self-talk
  • Burnout
  • Communicating with teammates and coaches
  • Injures and other transitions
  • Balancing responsibilities
  • General mental health issues that may impact performance
  • Other skills to enhance performance
    • How to up/down-regulate as needed
    • Imagery/visualization
    • Improving insight

In addition to individual services, our SPP staff are happy to meet with coaches and/or teams/groups to discuss topics related to mental health, performance enhancement and team dynamics.
