Gino Granzella is a psychology doctoral intern with CCPS who is completing his doctorate in clinical psychology at Azusa Pacific University, where he received his master’s degree. Gino also attended the University of Nevada, Reno during undergrad, where he majored in psychology and Spanish.
During his training, Gino has worked in a variety of settings, which have helped prepare him for a career as a therapist. His first training site was with a community counseling center, primarily working with high school students from low socio-economic backgrounds.
Next, he worked at Chapman University, where he assisted college students with a variety of concerns while also working with the athletics department to build training programs for the university’s student-athletes. Finally, Gino worked at a residential facility for adults with schizophrenia, aiding the residents with a variety of daily tasks as well as providing therapeutic treatment.
Clinically, Gino prefers working with young adults, and his interests include athletes/performance, generalized anxiety, and identity formation. He primarily identifies as a psychodynamic psychotherapist, although he uses aspects of CBT and interpersonal theory as well. Outside of work, Gino enjoys watching and playing sports, gaming, exercising, spending time outdoors, and reading.
