Dr. Kristin Miserocchi (she/her) is a Staff Psychologist and the Groups Coordinator at CCPS. She received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kentucky in 2014. Though trained as a generalist (meaning she is effective working with a wide range of problems in living), she also specializes in group therapy, trauma, family of origin issues, relationship issues, and identity exploration. As a U.S.-born, cisgender, heterosexual, White woman, Kristin very intentionally adopts a multicultural orientation in all her work with clients, aspiring to engage with openness and humility. This means she regularly engages in critical self-reflection related to her own cultural lived experiences, and she prioritizes culturally focused continuing education in her own professional and personal development. In 2024, Dr. Miserocchi completed all of the training and supervision requirements to become a Certified Group Therapist (CGP).
Kristin’s therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and integrative, drawing from a number of approaches (feminist, interpersonal process, brain-based, mindfulness, and person-centered – just to name a few), while always staying attuned to strengths and cultural factors. She prioritizes cultivating the therapeutic relationship in order to earn the trust of her clients. She values safety, collaboration, flexibility, self-exploration, empowering choice, and self-compassion – these are all regularly infused in the work she does. Relationally, she is empathic, transparent, and both sincere and sarcastic. She continually feels honored by this work and sees it as a generous gift to feel alongside of her clients and to witness their vulnerability.
