Maryn Palmer is a psychology doctoral intern with CCPS and is completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Kansas City University, where she also completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology. Maryn received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from North Central College in Illinois.
Before beginning her graduate education, Maryn worked as a Crisis Clinician at a community mental health clinic where she provided crisis intervention and support. During her doctoral program she conducted psychological assessments within a Kansas City area school district, assisting in identifying mental health disorders, neurodiversity, and academic needs. She also worked within a street care clinic, providing therapy and diagnostic services to underserved and unhoused neighbors. As part of her graduate training, Maryn has also previously trained at a college counseling center at Baker University where she first came to love working with college students.
Maryn enjoys therapy through a person-centered approach, viewing the whole person with their individual experiences and circumstances. She incorporates aspects of different therapeutic styles (ACT, Existential, Interpersonal, Feminist, ect.) to meet the individual needs of each of her clients. Maryn’s professional interests include identity development, anxiety, trauma, adjustment, depression, and relational issues.
When Maryn is not working you might spot her around town taking her cat to the park, attempting to make pottery, or catching a live performance.
